Biography

Kari holds a degree in studio art from the University of California at Davis and has been an exhibiting artist and educator for over twenty-five years. Collected internationally, Kari's works are in private, corporate and embassy collections.

Kari is the artist/owner of Kari Minnick Art Glass Studio, LLC, located in the heart of the Arts & Entertainment district in Silver Spring, MD. The studio offers architectural commissions, fine art, and internationally recognized courses in kiln formed glass. A dynamic educator, Kari teaches her signature courses throughout the United States and in her Maryland studio.

Honors and awards include:

Presenter at BECon 2011: CROSSOVER: A Material Exchange Exploring the interface between kiln glass and other media.

Kari returns to Scotland to attend her second invitational international residency at Northlands Creative Glass in the fall of 2011.

Kari attended IN PLACE: Kiln Formed Glass in the Built Environment an invitational international residency at NorthLands Creative Glass in Lybster, Scotland, June 2010.

Noted for outstanding craftsmanship and achievement in glass, Kari received the prestigious JUROR’S CHOICE AWARD at the Bay Area Glass Institute Gala, 2008

Kari’s work was featured in the exhibit Celebrating Connections: Contemporary Glass Art by Mid-Atlantic Artists at the Museum of American Glass in Millville, NJ, 2007
